The geeks at JamiQ, are looking for a Information Extraction Engineer to help tame and revolutionise the JamiQ infrastructure.

You are an Information Extraction Engineer. A webpage comes by and, within seconds, you mentally effortlessly buildup a DOM model. (Python | Lisp | Ruby | Perl) flows from your fingertips as you persevere to arrange the data in the most efficient and impossibly portable way. 

Coincidentally, you also have courage to manipulate hundreds of GB of data without breaking into sweat. Building extremely redundant distributed computing infrastructure keeps you awake at night and queue systems are what you think of while taking a walk in the park.

Candidates with demonstrable experience (eg. an IE project) and excellent English are preferred. We welcome candidates from all over the world.

JamiQ is a Singapore-based social media monitoring company. You will be based on the sunny island of Singapore.

Hiring Process Timeline

Within One Week
We would have replied to your email submission and indicate very clearly if we would like to proceed further with you. Please forgive us and send us a reminder if we do not reply to you within one week.

If you are outside of Singapore, we may arrange for a phone interview with you. If you have a Skype account, please get it ready. We may also arrange to call you on your mobile phone.

If you are within Singapore, we may arrange for a interview with you at our office or a location of our choice.

Within One Month
We may arrange for a small project with you. We prefer to hire only team members that we have worked with before. You will work on a component that may go directly into our production systems.

This will be a paid assignment should we choose not to proceed with you further.

If you are located in Singapore, we will make the Employment Offer at this stage. 

If you are outside of Singapore, we will proceed further as elaborated below.

Beyond One Month
Overseas candidates may be brought into Singapore at our cost. We may choose to work further with you over a period of one month in Singapore. We may make the employment offer anytime within this period.

Exceptional Candidates
For some senior or very experienced candidates, we may choose to make the hiring decision without completing the entire process.
